Meet the Idols, Part 3

*I will update these posts as time permits. For now, judge them by their faces, as God intended.

Why pick Lilly? Her silver-hairedness makes her stand out almost as much as her honey-smooth vocals do. Especially in the early stages, uniqueness counts as much as (if not more so than) anything else, so Lilly's got a built-in advantage.

Why not? She's esoteric and cool, two things that make her awesome personally but a risky bet on Idol.

Favorite artists/inspirations: George Harrison, Janis Joplin, The Beatles

Why pick "Big Mike"? He's arguably gotten the most attention of anyone else thus far, which counts for a lot. He's likeable and blends R&B smoothness with guitar-based inventiveness, which might be the perfect equation for this show.

Why not? Some of us think his vocals have been overrated.

Why pick Michelle? Everybody loves a dark horse.

Why not? Not everybody votes for one.

Favorite artists/inspirations: Michael Jackson, Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Pink, Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner

Why pick Paige? Everybody loves a dark horse.

Why pick Siobahn? We haven't seen much of her, but she delivered a strong Stevie Wonder song on Hollywood, and she's a glass-blower's apprentice from Cape Cod, MA. Which seriously makes me want to vote for her on that basis alone.

Why not? There's always one weird girl to totally crash and burn in Week 1. That girl is almost always the Siobahn Magnus.

Why pick Tim? Um, he's adorable? Duh.

Why not? Up until the last-minute ineligibility of Chris Golightly (that albino foster kid with the Sideshow Bob hair who was secretly in a boy band), Tim wasn't in the Top 24.

Favorite artists/inspirations: James Taylor, Colbie Callait, John Denver, One Republic, Jack Johnson, John Mayer

Why pick Todrick? As a pure vocalist, he's one of the best of the guys.

Why not? His frequent diva antics have been a turn-off.

Favorite artists/inspirations: Rascal Flatts, Beyonce, Jazmine Sullivan

Why pick Tyler? There's nobody else on his '70s-rocker wavelength and, again, uniqueness counts.

Why not? Some might find his self-conscious straining-to-be-cool to be annoying.

Favorite artists/inspirations: Led Zeppelin, The Who, The Rolling Stones, The Doors, Aerosmith, The Beatles, Alicia Keys
