"Randy Johnson"?

Was I the only person who heard Melinda call him that? Seacrest is way off his game if he missed that.

Also:

-- Kind of freaked out to see Melinda reprise one of her best performances and pretty much biff it. Jordin wasn't quite as good as before either, but only by a smidge. Meanwhile, Blake picks a new song entirely and kicka a little ass. Damn.

-- Love Jordin like a little sister, but the attempted banter with Simon just isn't working for her. Stick to Ryan, he's a better sport.

-- Does Simon's last-ditch plug for Melinda help her, or does America recognize that Simon's exposed his jugular and look to hit him where it hurts?

In summation, I really think Phil Melinda could be in trouble tomorrow!

The "Randy Johnson" thing threw me off, too. And wasn't that in a taped segment? It's not like a slip of the tongue in a live broadcast. Very weird.

As for predictions, it's going to be a diva-off. That #2 spot is death.

Not according to the message board crazies, it's not. Apparently the #1 slot in Top 3 week is death, which means Jordin got "de-pimped" tonight, throwing the entire idea of Jordin as TCO into question, and making everyone have to come up with whole new reasons for their utterly disproportionate hatred.

...I really shouldn't read the boards right after a show.

I accept defeat. Blake is going home, I know, and I am losing the pool. To Joe. Who's running the pool. SUSPICIOUS? I think so.

I'm not sure about the "randy johnson" but -- having a little bit of a heads up for it -- I wanted to play it back to see if the Tennessee governor miss-spoke the name & Melinda was playing. There was a hint of irony in Melinda's delivery, and -- well -- she ain't that ironic.

Hey, if Blake goes home, and Melinda wins the whole thing, I squeak it out. LINDA.

I find it hard to believe that Melinda is going home; if she hasn't gone yet, I think she's got this thing locked up. But her voice sounded tight and tired in spots, to me, for the first time last night.

Who knows. I think it's Jordin going home tonight.
