Justin II: Electric Sligh-a-loo

What do we think of Chris Sligh lipping off to Simon? It didn't affect my opinion of him, but I wonder if it's going to hurt him.

Yeah, I thought that was not smart. Later in the season, maybe, but it came off too rehearsed, and it was too much. Would have been funnier with a shrug and a "Hey, not everything can be Il Divo."

I was too busy telling Ryan Seacrest to shut the fuck up to really think about Chris's end of it. He sang really well, too, but I don't cotton to lipping off to Simon.

The "the pilot's dead, who's flying the plane" line was dead on. That was squirmy.

I think it'll win him some voter love...especially after Simon creamed the gentle kids like Malakar last night. But I think Sligh definitely made an enemy of Simon...he was none too pleased.

I already didn't like him. I agree with Linda -- I think ALL his lines sound rehearsed. But he was doing great until last night. That was a dumb move. Simon forgets a lot of things, but he won't forget that.

Yeah, he roughed up Malakar more than he needed to, I thought. The kid's obviously cannon fodder; just let him get sloughed off in his own time.

it's so random who the judges decide to be mean to. The thing is Malakar has a beautiful voice. very steady and clear... he was too laid back without the confidence that made 'laid back' work so extravagantly well for Blake --but the voice is there so it's easy to imagine him improving if they weren't so eager to gun him down.

especially how many mediocre to thinky voices are in that top 12

Thing is, getting lambasted like that is going to get him plenty more votes than milder criticism would have. I think he's totally safe.
